Search continues for suspect in murder
Jackson County investigators are in Mt. Vernon, Alabama this morning searching the stolen car belonging to the man whose body was found Monday morning in a freezer in a Latimer home.
Sheriff Mike Ezell says a relative of Thomas Elliot Stafford, the man wanted for killing Jerry Floyd Kirkendall, told Mt. Vernon police that Stafford sold the gold Cadillac to him. The car was found at the relative’s house. No charges have been filed at this time against the relative.
Stafford is still on the run. A warrant for his arrest for capital murder has been issued.
