Search continues for shooter at a club in Moss Point

Police are still trying to identify the suspects involved in a shooting at a Moss Point night club early Sunday morning.
According to the Moss Point Police Department, multiple victims were injured after a fight broke out at Platinum Sports Bar and Lounge. The altercation spilled into the parking lot where gunshots were exchanged by multiple parties. Five people were shot and a total of ten people were injured during the brawl.
Moss Point police and the Jackson County’s Sheriff Department pursued and apprehended a suspect, 23-year-old Willie Peden.
Moss Point Police Chief Calvin Hutchins tells News 25 none of the injuries were life-threatening, but police will get to the bottom of who fired the shots. “It could have been a dangerous situation where we have fatalities and we’re very fortunate we didn’t have those. We did have a shooting and in this city that is not tolerated, unacceptable and we’re going to find out who did it and put those people to justice.”
Authorities also recovered two semi-automatic handguns that are believed to have been used at Club Platinum. Witnesses to the incident are encouraged to contact Moss Point police at 228-475-1711.
