Search continues for missing 75-year-old Gulfport woman
A Gulfport woman is still missing after a search team combed through four square miles of woods in the Lyman community over the weekend.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation issued a silver alert for 75-year-old Dorothy Burks a little under two weeks ago.
Retired Coast Guard veteran George Ruiz and the Geaux Rescue Team helped family members look for Burks near her last known location in Lyman.
She was last seen wearing a black jacket with black and red checkered pants. Dorothy’s great-niece Tieraney Houston said, “I would like to thank the community. We’ve had so much support from the Gulf Coast, from Geaux Rescue and other teams that have come in, prayers, and just everything. We are so thankful, yes.”
Anyone with information on Miss Burks’ whereabouts should contact Gulfport Police immediately.
