Seahawks rookie Derick Hall throws out Biloxi Shuckers first pitch
Gulfport alum Derick Hall getting back to his Admiral blue in a custom Biloxi Shuckers jersey with his NFL number 58 to throw out the first pitch at Saturday’s game less than two months after being drafted 37th overall by the Seattle Seahawks.
Hall was a tri-sport athlete during his time at Gulfport but baseball never made the cut, although you wouldn’t know it based on the strike right down the middle, Noah Campbell doing the catching.
Afterwards the former Auburn Tiger kind enough to chat with WXXV about his long lost love for baseball and his transition to being a professional linebacker. “I’ve always had a thing, at least for baseball. I never had the opportunity to play it with football, basketball and track, but I mean it was a great overall experience. Yeah, I mean I think all the guys I’m with are pretty good. They’re pretty straightforward. They take care of me in the sense of making sure I do everything I need to do, and help me become a better pro day in and day out, and I think that just comes with repetition and just comes with time really figuring that all out. But I mean my guys take care of me and they do a great job.”
Hall also joining Shuckers broadcaster Javik Blake in the booth for a half inning before jetting off to Scrapin the Coast where he got the chance to show off two of his three trucks.
