Seabee rescues driver from a wreck in Saucier

One Navy Seabee thought he was starting his day off normal, but Joseph McCord’s normal routine was changed when he saw a car’s tail lights disappear down an embankment.

As he drove by, he saw the car on its roof. McCord slammed on his brakes and jumped into action.

As he ran down the embankment, he smelled various fluid leaking from the car with steam rising from the hood as well as a bloody arm hanging out of the driver-side window.

McCord pulled the driver from the wreckage and started to provide first aid. It was revealed the driver had fallen asleep at the wheel.

The driver is meeting up with McCord Monday night for dinner as a way to say thank you.
