Scrapin’ the Coast Revs Up This Weekend

Loud engines and low riders are on their way to South Mississippi. Tomorrow is the first day of Scrapin’ the Coast.
For the 14th year, the premiere car, truck and bike show will be taking over the streets of Biloxi. Drive thru registration begins Friday morning and show times will start up Saturday morning at 8 and run until 5 at the Coast Coliseum.
As of today, Scrapin’ organizer Myles Holcomb tells News 25 they currently have 800 vehicles registered, but the majority of custom vehicles just show up. They expect that number to grow to 2,800.
Holcomb says the same cars pulling into the Coast will reflect the trends he sees at his custom car business. “Here we started off as a hydraulic company and started doing the hopping cars. Well, it’s transferred over to air bagged vehicles to lifted trucks and me being a business owner, we have to keep up with the transition on trends and as far as the car shows, too.”
Holcomb says they’ve seen car owners from as far as Miami, Los Angeles and Canada bring their custom vehicles to the Coast.
