Scott Sisson Takes the Reins Again at Resurrection Catholic Football
Longtime coach Scott Sisson is back at Resurrection Catholic, taking the reins once again as the Eagles’ head football coach. Sisson is no stranger to RCS. He led the Eagles from 2013 to 2019, guiding the program to five consecutive playoff appearances and a South State Championship in 2015. But his coaching career stretches far beyond Resurrection Catholic.
After one season at Clinton, Sisson has now spent 41 years coaching football across South Mississippi. His Coast career began in 1986 at Moss Point High School, and he’s since made stops at East Central, returned to Moss Point, and later coached at Pascagoula High School before retiring from the public school system.
Retirement, however, didn’t last long. Sisson eventually joined Resurrection Catholic, and now he’s back for another stint leading the Eagles. He told WXXV Sports what continues to motivate him after more than four decades on the sidelines.
“I’ve always enjoyed it because I started with such a great coaching group in Moss Point back in the mid ’80s. I just loved it,” Coach Sisson said. “I feel like now I’m still as effective as I was back then, and my wife being the principal here, why would I stay at home if I’m going to be by myself all day? Might as well come to work and try to put a football team together.”
