School Districts announcing schedule changes ahead of Isaias
School Districts in South Mississippi are announcing schedule changes due to Isaias.
The George County School District will be closed Friday, October 9.
Poplarville School District will have an early release on Friday, October 9, 2026.
Moss Point School District will suspend all operations on Friday, October 9th, due to expected inclement weather associated with Hurricane Isaias.
Due to Hurricane Isaias, all MGCCC campuses and centers will be closed Friday, October 9. Scheduled classes will transition to virtual instruction, and all in-person activities are canceled.
The University of Southern Mississippi will close all research and teaching sites along the Gulf Coast, including the Gulf Park campus, on Friday, Oct. 9.
Pearl River Community College announced all in-person classes will dismiss and college offices will close at noon on Friday, October 9, 2026. Online classes will continue as scheduled. Residence halls and dining services will remain open, but students are strongly encouraged to return home if possible.
