Schedule changes for schools due to cold weather

Due to anticipated cold weather, schools across the Coast are changing their schedules.

The George County School District has decided to close school on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.  There will be no school for students or staff on Tuesday, January 16.  All after-school activities are also canceled for Tuesday, January 16. The George County School District administration will continue to monitor the weather conditions.  Any additional changes to school schedules will be posted on our website, and social media outlets, and communicated via our automated alert system.

Stone County School District will be closed for all students and staff on January 16th.

All William Carey University locations will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 16 because of severe weather expected tonight and tomorrow. This includes WCU locations in Hattiesburg, Biloxi/Tradition and Baton Rouge, La.

Hancock County School District will be closed on Tuesday, January 16th, 2024. Staff and students will return to school on Wednesday, January 17th, 2024 with free dress.

Pearl River County Schools will be closed Tuesday, January 16. This includes all after school activities. School officials will continue to monitor the conditions concerning a decision for Wednesday.

Jackson County School District will be closing schools and cancelling all athletic events Tuesday January 16th. Please watch for updates regarding school changes for Wednesday January 17th.

Nativity BVM Catholic School will be closed on Tuesday, January 16th.

Biloxi Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 16th.

Ocean Springs School District has elected to cancel school and extracurricular activities on Tuesday, January 16th, 2024, due to anticipated freezing weather and road conditions in our area.

The Pass Christian Public School District will be closed on Tuesday, January 16th due to the potential for wintry weather condition, which may cause our bridges to ice over night.

St. Alphonsus in Ocean Springs will closed on Tuesday, January 16th.

St. Patrick Catholic High School will be closed on Tuesday, January 16th.

All Schools in the Diocese of Biloxi will be closed on Tuesday, January 16th.

Our Lady Academy, Saint Stanislaus, and Holy Trinity Catholic School will close tomorrow, January 16, 2024, due to the winter weather advisory that has been issued for our area.

The MSU Extension Head Start and Early Head Start centers in Harrison County will be CLOSED on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

The Moss Point School District will be closed Tuesday, January 16, due to the conditions forecasted with the incoming winter weather. No students or employees are to report to MPSD tomorrow, Tuesday, January 16th.

All after school activities, athletic activities are cancelled and the Boys and Girls Club will be closed.

All schools and offices in the Harrison County School District will be closed Tuesday, January 16. Classes are scheduled to resume on Wednesday.

St. James Catholic School will be closed tomorrow.

Gulfport School District will be closed Tuesday, January 16th.

Pascagoula Gautier School District schools will be closed Tuesday, January 16, due to the conditions forecasted with the incoming winter weather.

Schools in the Bay-Waveland School District will be closed Tuesday, January 16th.

All MGCCC locations and centers will be closed on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, due to inclement weather. All classes will be virtual. Residence halls and dining hall at the Perk Campus will remain open.

Long Beach School District will be closed Tuesday, January 16th. This includes all schools and offices. In addition, all afterschool, extracurricular activities, including practices, and games will be canceled.

Christian Collegiate Academy is closed Tuesday, Jan. 16, due to the weather.
Picayune School District is closed Tuesday, January 16th due to the weather.

Sage Christian Academy and Little People’s Christian Academy in Saucier will be closed January 16th due to the weather.
