SCEDP executive director resigns

The Stone County Economic Development Partnership accepted the resignation of Betsy Rowell as executive director during a meeting on Thursday, November 9.

Mrs. Rowell’s last day will be December 31 of this year.

Through her efforts and leadership, Stone County now has over $500 million in projects underway to boost the county’s economy.

Additionally during her tenure, infrastructure has been improved.

This includes recreation facilities and the revitalization of Downtown Wiggins.

Under Mrs. Rowell’s leadership, the SCEDP has attracted over $1.5 million in tourism, industrial, recreation, façade, and heritage grants.
