Scarlet Pearl Casino Opens Tomorrow
In less than 24 hours, D’iberville’s first casino, the Scarlet Pearl, will roll out the red carpet and open its doors to gamers all across the Coast. The new casino and resort will offer 45 table games, 10 live poker gamers and more than 1,300 slot machines.
After 17 months of planning, building, and training, the grand opening of D’iberville’s newest casino and resort, the Scarlet Pearl, is now just hours away. Scarlet Pearl CEO Luann Pappas said, “Everyone is putting the finishing touches on the bars and polishing the marble and the chrome and practicing scripting with one another on how to handle unique situations.”
The opening of the city’s very first casino is attracting gamers from both near and far. Alabama resident Marcus Richardson said, “I saw the sign from the interstate and decided to stop by and see because it wasn’t here when I originally left the area.”
The Scarlet Pearl’s 60,445 square foot casino floor includes 45 table games, 10 live poker games and over 1,300 slot machines. In addition to all this, the Scarlet Pearl provides fun for the whole family to enjoy with its 36-hole miniature golf course called Lava Links. Lava Links features a volcano that erupts with fire every so often, adding even more flair to the Scarlet Pearl environment.
With two successful practice play days down, Scarlet Pearl officials tell News 25 the casinos 1,200 employees are well prepared to welcome hundreds of guests from all over the Coast.
“I do plan on coming through tomorrow night and trying my luck and maybe meeting some new people and learning some more about poker. Hopefully, they’re going to have some really nice, friendly dealers who are going to let me win,” said Richardson.
The grand opening is set for Wednesday morning at 11 a.m.
The Scarlet Pearl will soon host a PGA mini-golf tournament on the grounds of Lava Links.
