Scarlet Pearl Casino holds COVID vaccine event for employees and the community

Memorial Hospital and the Scarlet Pearl have teamed up to bring another COVID-19 vaccine clinic to the community.

Today and Thursday, a vaccination site has been set up inside a ballroom inside the Scarlet Pearl from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. for employees as well as community members.

The location provides easy access for the Scarlet Pearl employees who must receive at least the first dose of the vaccine by Friday.

All vaccine types are available at the location including second doses, booster shots, and the newly FDA approved Pfizer vaccine. Memorial Population Health Nurse Bobbi Jo Mielke said, “We’ve had a few that want the Johnson & Johnson, but it varies. I haven’t seen any more just because Pfizer’s approved. I think– one lady the other day came and got the vaccine because her father had it and he had good luck with it so she got the same thing that he got. It’s just I think more what they read or their family’s experience.”

According to the Scarlet Pearl, as of yesterday 93 percent of their entire staff has received at least one dose of the vaccine. Walk-ins are welcome, however, appointments are preferred.
