Saucier “painting town pink” to honor Gracelynn Vick

Saucier, Miss. (WXXV) — The town of Saucier has filled its homes and businesses with pink in remembrance of Gracelynn Vick, the six-year-old who was found deceased near her home on Sunday evening.

As the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed thus far, Vick was reported missing at around 12 p.m. Sunday after going outside to play in her front yard. An hours-long search ensued and ended sadly with Vick’s body finally being found at around 6 p.m. that evening.

Since then, the Saucier community has rallied around Vick and her family, striving to honor the little girl’s life while raising awareness in the aftermath of the tragedy.

What started as a social media post calling for support has turned into a total pink out, especially at businesses along Highway 49. Banners, balloons and streamers line storefronts and road signs in the community.

Pink — a symbol of girlhood and a touching tribute to the life of a young girl, gone far too soon.
