The Jackson County Road Department is actively monitoring roadways and drainage systems throughout the county. Crews are clearing ditches, inspecting known trouble spots, and preparing to respond to any roadway issues that may arise during the weather event.
Over the next few days, current forecasts indicate the potential for periods of heavy rainfall that could result in ponding on roadways and localized flooding in low‑lying areas. Motorists are urged to exercise caution, reduce speeds during heavy rain, and remain alert to changing road conditions.
Remember: Turn Around, Don’t Drown
Never drive through flooded roadways. Water depth can be difficult to judge, and even a small amount of moving water can create dangerous conditions.
Residents are encouraged to monitor local weather forecasts throughout the event.
As weather conditions continue to develop, residents are encouraged to follow the Jackson County Office of Emergency Services Facebook page for timely updates, safety information, road conditions, and emergency preparedness resources. Official updates will be posted throughout the event as information becomes available
