Samantha Bell’s wish come true
One Gulfport High Student had her wish come true.
Sixteen-year-old Samantha Bell is going to Hawaii to celebrate her recovery from leukemia, courtesy of Make-A-Wish Mississippi and the IP Casino Resort Spa.
She was forced to give up cheerleading and softball for treatment and was surprised during halftime of the boys basketball game against West Harrison. “I can’t even explain it because whenever you’re going through cancer, you don’t want to feel alone. A lot of times, a lot of people will. It means a lot to know that the entire cheer team and Gulfport High have supported me through it all.”
Samantha tells News 25 she can’t wait to try some Hawaiian cuisine as well as go ziplining and parasailing.
