Sam Lucey’s “Dry but Humid” Monday Evening Forecast
Hot Start to the Week, Then Storms Take Over
After a mostly clear night in the upper 70s, Tuesday will be sunny, hot, and a little bit uncomfortable at times. Highs will soar to near 95°, and with the humidity factored in it will feel like upwards of 109°. A Heat Advisory is in effect from 10 AM to 7 PM, so make sure you’re staying hydrated and limiting time outdoors during the peak afternoon heat. Tuesday night brings partly cloudy skies and another warm, muggy night in the upper 70s.
By Wednesday, we begin to see storm chances increase especially in the afternoon and evening. It’ll still be hot—highs near 96° with a heat index up to 110°—but scattered thunderstorms will bring some temporary relief from the heat.
The second half of the week turns more unsettled. Widespread showers and thunderstorms are likely Thursday and Friday, with pretty high rain chances both days. Some storms could bring heavy downpours, frequent lightning, and gusty winds. Highs will trend slightly closer to average, hovering in the upper 80s to near 90°.
Heading into the weekend, storm chances remain in the forecast. We’ll still see some sunshine, but expect scattered showers and thunderstorms each afternoon.
Stormy conditions linger into early next week as well, with highs staying in the low 90s and daily storm chances continuing through at least Monday.
