Salvation Army opening Center of Hope ahead of cold temperatures
GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- Cold temperatures are returning to the Gulf Coast, prompting the Salvation Army to reopen its Gulfport Center of Hope shelter.
The shelter is opening its doors to provide a warm and safe place for people experiencing homeless as overnight lows drop once again.
The Center of Hope offers beds, heat, and basic necessities for those seeking refuge from the cold.
Officials are encouraging anyone in need of shelter or those who know someone who may be vulnerable to take advantage of the services being offered.
As temperatures continue to fluctuate, the Salvation Army says it will remain ready to respond when conditions become dangerous.
