Salvation Army Mississippi Gulf Coast announces new leadership

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- The Salvation Army Mississippi Gulf Coast has announced their new team of officers. These new officers will serve the six coastal counties.

Major Paul and Karen Egan have been appointed as the new area commanders for the Mississippi Gulf Coast. They both have decades of experience in ministry and leadership. The Egans say they are excited to lead local efforts in transforming lives through social services, emergency disaster response, and spiritual care.

“We are excited to begin this new chapter on the Mississippi Gulf Coast,” said Major Paul Egan. “Our mission is to meet human needs in Christ’s name without discrimination, and we look forward to working alongside our incredible staff, volunteers, and community partners.”

Joining them at the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Biloxi are Captains Bruce and Tavia Williams II. They will serve as the Kroc congregational life officers.

Major Janna Torgerson will serve as the corps officer in Pascagoula. She will oversee the ministry and programs of the Salvation Army’s Pascagoula Corps.
