Salvation Army Kettlethon underway in Biloxi
The Swetman family Red Kettlethon is underway at the Biloxi Visitors Center.
The Swetman family started this Kettlethon ten years ago and it has become a holiday tradition.
Each year, Windy Swetman, the chairman for the Salvation Army’s Swetman Kettlethon, rings the bell from dawn to dusk, standing on the side of the road encouraging people to donate to the Salvation Army.
Since this is the tenth anniversary, their goal is to reach $25,000 in donations. Swetman said, “I have all the faith in our community, in the people of South Mississippi today. We are not going to stop at $25,000. I feel confident we are going to go over that. We are going to meet and exceed our goal as we always have. It’s just a blessing and a true testimony of just how generous our community is.”
They will be outside of the visitors center until dusk taking donations.
