Salvation Army Jacket And Shoe Giveaway
This morning, the Salvation Army in Gulfport gave the gift of warmth to those in need.
While temperatures have only dipped a handful of times on the Coast, the weather is bound to get frigid and that’s why the Salvation Army wants to make sure you’re ready.
Those in need filed through the command center in Gulfport today to get a free jacket, shoes, hats and gloves.
Edgewater Cleaners and the Salvation Army partnered to provide today’s supplies to those in need.
Zach Rhodes with the Salvation Army said, “At the Salvation Army we help anyone in need. We step to the plate and help them. Even though it’s not cold outside, there is a need for jackets. It’s going to get cold here soon. And the shoes, kids always need shoes and the adults as well.”
If you missed the giveaway today, the Salvation plans to do another one next Thursday at 9 in Gulfport.
To qualify for a jacket or shoes, you must provide an ID, proof of residency and if you’re getting something for your child, something proving they belong to you.
