Salvation Army Family Store Opens Gulfport

The Salvation Army opened doors to their temporary family store on Highway 49 this weekend.
The store in Gulfport offers clothing for adults and children, toys, home decor, and many other items.
All proceeds made in the family store go directly into programs and services with the Salvation Army. This includes the food pantry, laundry services, and the cold weather shelter.
This location for the family store is temporary. They are expected to move across the highway in about six to eight months. They decided to open this location for the time being because of the high demand here on the Gulf Coast. Store Manager Roxane Lance said, “Initially we were wanting to get the bigger store open because of the donations pouring in because people were so anxious for this store to open, we went ahead and got this smaller store to get it open until we can get the larger store finished, the renovations.”
The temporary family store is located on Highway 49 north near Polk Street.
The store is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
