Salvation Army cuts ribbon on new social services office in Biloxi

Today the Salvation Army presented the Mississippi Gulf Coast with a ribbon cutting for a social service office in Biloxi.

With the new social service office, the people of Biloxi will no longer need to go to the Gulfport Social Service Office in order to be granted aid.

The social service assistance provided by the Salvation Army includes food boxes and help with rental and utility bills.

These services will be made available by appointment. Documents, such as a photo ID and proof of income, will be required through email. Area Commander Major Bradley Caldwell said, “We’ve learned that much of the help that people receive, much of the uplift that they get is not just what they receive, but how they are treated. We hope that the direct relational presence here will make a difference here, along with the help that we supply.”

The Biloxi Social Service Office will only be open one day a week and appointments will be made on Tuesday mornings.
