Salvation Army cold weather shelters are open and they need volunteers

In Gulfport and Pascagoula, the Salvation Army has opened cold weather shelters for those who need a warm, dry place to sleep during this week’s freezing temperatures.

Shelters will be open at 6 p.m. tonight until 7 a.m. tomorrow. Then they’ll reopen again tomorrow night at 6 p.m.

Dinner and breakfast will be provided each day for those in need.

Volunteers are also needed.

Here’s a list of the shelters open to those in need in South Mississippi:

  • The Salvation Army Gulfport Outreach on 22nd Street
  • Pascagoula Corp and Social Services off Nathan Hale Ave in Pascagoula
