Saints Report: Saints back on track with 30-9 win over Jets

On Sunday, New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara became the fastest player in league history to reach both 3,000 yards rushing and 3,000 yards receiving, doing so in just 66 games and it couldn’t have happened at a better time.

Kamara tying his season high 120 yards on the ground, just the second time the Saints have had a 100-yard rusher all year.

The Saints did most of their damage in the fourth quarter where they scored 17 out of their 30 points to pull away from a Jets team that was unable to find the endzone all day.

Kamara made his return from a four-game absence due to injury, perhaps it is no coincidence the Saints didn’t win a game the whole time. “I haven’t lost that much in a long time, a long time. A lot of these guys aren’t used to losing like that, so just to get back in the winning column, it feels good.”

Head Coach Sean Payton said, “What I told them, it’s a funny league. It just keeps giving you a chance and you keep focusing. I know it sounds cliche with the one week at a time, but you really just turn your focus to the next game and there’s a bunch of teams that are clumped together and are fighting to make the postseason, and our focus will really be on ourselves improving and getting healthier and getting ready for what’s going to be a really good Tampa Bay team that we play Sunday night.”

The game against the Bucs kicks off at 7:20 p.m. on Sunday on WXXV on NBC.
