Saints place WR Michael Thomas on PUP list

New Orleans Saints Wide Receiver Michael Thomas won’t be ready for the start of the 2021 season.

Today, the team placed its star wideout on the physically unable to perform list, ruling him out of action, for at least the first six weeks of the regular season.

Last month, Thomas underwent surgery to repair the torn deltoid and another ligament in his high ankle despite reports of needing surgery all the way back in January.

Thomas is looking at a four-month recovery time to come back from an injury that dates back to week one win against Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

After setting the NFL’s single season record with 149 receptions in 2019, Thomas went on to play in just seven regular season games, starting five of them while logging 40 catches without finding the end zone once.
