Saints embarrass Bengals in blowout win
Even without Dez, the Saints posted a season-high for points in a game in Sunday’s 51-14 victory over the Bengals.
New Orleans moved the ball at will against Cincinnati becoming only the second team this season to put up 50 points after the Steelers on Thursday.
The Saints lead the entire league with almost 37 points per game with Drew Brees on pace to shatter his own single-season record for completion percentage. “You run plays just expecting to just chip away, chip away, chip away. It’s not like you’re calling some of those run plays and you’re expecting them just to bust loose. I think you just go in with the mentality that we’re going to have to earn every inch, right? Earn every yard. And then all of a sudden you bust one or just, I felt like really, the run game, it was solid. It was four yards here, it was five yards here, then you maybe break off an eight to ten yard run. But it was just, it was methodical.”
On Sunday, Brees also passed Brett Favre on the all-time list for career touchdown passes with 509. Peyton Manning is first with 539.
