Saints DE Cam Jordan named NFC Defensive Player of the Week

As a rookie in 2011, Saints Defensive End Cam Jordan recorded his first career sack and that was it, but since then, he has the most quarterback takedowns in the entire league during that time frame.

Yesterday, Jordan took home NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors for his three sacks on Philadelphia Eagles back up QB Gardner Minshew.

That gives Jordan the most sacks in Saints franchise history with 115-and-a-half, surpassing Rickey Jackson’s 115 29 years later.

Jordan is also the sixth player since 1982 to record at least seven sacks in 11 consecutive seasons joining Reggie White, Chris Doleman, John Randle, Derrick Thomas, and Robert Mathis.

The Saints closing out their season at home Sunday versus the Panthers.
