Saints clean out lockers

They say time heals all wounds, but how much time, especially in the case of the New Orleans No-Call, is open for debate.

This morning, Saints players returned to their practice facility to clean out their lockers, following Sunday’s heartbreaking defeat to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship game.

Twenty-four hours certainly not enough time to get over a loss of that magnitude, but it’s not so much that they lost, it’s how they lost.

Here’s what veteran punter Thomas Morstead, one of just three remaining players from the Super Bowl 44 roster, had to say. “It’s a thing that anybody could point to, absolutely. And it really hurts, the loss feels, last year we felt like we got beat. They made a play and we didn’t stop them. And as tough as that was I think as a player, you can handle that. This just feels a little dirty. It just feels a little dirty.”

The only other two players remaining from that Super Bowl team are Drew Brees and Jermon Bushrod.
