Saints, Broncos agree to compensation for Sean Payton

Today, the New Orleans Saints and Denver Broncos agreeing to compensation for former Head Coach Sean Payton.

Both sides coming to terms on a move that makes Payton the 19th head coach of the Broncos in exchange for Denver’s 2023 first round pick and 2024 second round pick.

The Saints also sending their 2024 third round pick back to the Broncos who are excited to make Payton one of the highest paid coaches in the league.

During his 15 seasons in the Big Easy, Payton posting an overall record of 152-89 including a win over the Colts in Super Bowl 44.

Payton signing an extension with the Saints through 2024 allowing New Orleans to treat Payton as a tradable asset following his retirement after the 2021 season. Payton was NFL Coach of the Year in 2006 and was suspended in 2012.
