Safety and sobriety checkpoints in Biloxi

During the holidays there can be a lot of traffic and with that comes the potential of an increase in accidents.

Biloxi police will conduct checkpoints throughout the city until the end of the month.  Some of the things they will check for include valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and if you’re wearing a seat belt.

They will also be looking out for people who look under the influence which can pose a huge threat to other drivers on the road. Biloxi Police Department PIO Jason Cummings said, “We’re going to accommodate traffic as best we can. If the traffic backs up we will probably flush it out and get people moving. We have to remember our sole purpose is about the people and the citizens of Biloxi and everyone else that is coming out of town to visit for the holiday season.”
