Saddling up for the rodeo in Vancleave
Looking to get roped in this weekend or would you like to round up the family for an up close view of bareback riding, steer wrestling, cowgirls, barrel racing, and more?
Make your way to the Vancleave Arena tonight for the 17th annual Jackson County Sheriff’s Department Rodeo. You can fly solo or wrangle the entire family to this two day, action packed event, and it’s all for a great cause.
Proceeds will help fund training, equipment, uniforms, and other special needs for the Jackson County auxiliary members who have booked more than 20,000 hours of service, from helping out with patrols to expanding law enforcement presence in Jackson County. Rodeo Announcer Clint Allemand said, “The cheapest rate in town, ten dollars for adults, five for six to 12, and we’re going to go five and under is free. It’s just a fun time. It helps out the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department. We have a special needs rodeo for the kids tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock. It’s just fun.”
The two day rodeo kicks off tonight at 7:30 at Vancleave’s Conrad Mallette Arena on Ballpark Road and goes on through late tomorrow evening. Put on by Premier Rodeo Productions, the National Cowboys Pro Rodeo Association and Premier Bull Tours contestants from here and throughout the southeast will be competing for more than $10,000 in prize money.
