S.A.V.E. Holds Fundraiser for Training Trip to NC
S.A.V.E. works to stop needless deaths and violence against teens. They address everything from texting and driving to drugs and cyber bullying. Just two months ago, an Ocean Springs High School student was arrested for posting threats on a social media site, and its situations like that S.A.V.E. hopes to prevent through education and awareness.
Noah Anglin, a senior at Ocean Springs High, says, “We have Facebook pages that you can like and we can share information there about maybe if you’re a parent, how you can tell your children to be safer. We can provide take home materials, which we’ve done in the past. We’ve even allowed parents to come into our presentations and we’ve talked about cyber bullying. We’ve talked about social media.”
Students and local professionals came and sang for Friday night’s gala fundraiser.
