RV fire at Stop ‘N Geaux caused by mechanical failure

Earlier today, an RV caught fire at the Stop ‘N Geaux off Highway 53.

According to Gulfport Fire Department District Chief Ian Murray, the firefighters with the department were at the Stop ‘N Geaux filling up their truck with gas when a man came running out of his RV saying it was on fire.

Those firefighters acted swiftly in putting out the fire before it could spread to the rest of the vehicle.

The fire was later confirmed to be caused by a mechanical failure within the RV and no injuries were reported.
