Rotary Club of Orange Grove donates flu supplies
With flu season just around the corner, it can be very important to have the right supplies to combat these germs especially around children.
The Rotary Club of Orange Grove took note of this and donated flu season supplies to Crossroads Elementary and Bel-Air Elementary in Gulfport. These supplies include things like tissues, paper towels, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant wipes.
Children are very hands on so it’s important that while they are at school teachers are making sure students are staying away from spreading germs.
The teachers at these elementary schools are overjoyed with this act of kindness from the Rotary Club. Crossroads Elementary Kindergarten Teacher Brittany Henderson said, “I am floored. We don’t get a lot of donations as teachers, these are things we usually spend our own money on so it’s amazing that the Rotary Club would think of us and bring us these supplies right before flu season. It’s important to try to keep our classrooms and students as clean as we can.”
This contribution is more helpful than you’d think. On average, last year teachers in the U.S. spent $500 of their own money on classroom supplies.
