Rotary Club of Picayune holds annual fishing rodeo for special needs students

PICAYUNE, Miss. (WXXV)- The 30th annual fishing rodeo turned a simple day of fishing into a lifetime of memories for special needs students in the Picayune School District.

About one hundred special needs students from the Picayune School District took part in the Rotary Club’s 30th annual fishing rodeo.

The event was designed to give each student a hands-on outdoor experience where they could fish, enjoy nature, and spend the day in an inclusive setting built just for them.

Community partners and volunteers helped students cast, learn their techniques, and enjoy a safe day on the water.
