Rotary Club donates Little Free Library

Today, the Rotary Club of Gulfport-Orange Grove dedicated its third Little Free Library to River Oaks Elementary in Gulfport.
The wooden box standing outside the school allows students to pick up a book from the box or drop off books without going through a checkout process. The library works on the honor system, allowing students to either return the book they borrowed or donate another book to replace it.
Last July, the Rotary Club of Gulfport-Orange Grove joined forces with the Little Free Library Non-profit Organization in order to increase access to books for readers and foster neighborhood book exchanges. Free Little Library Committee Chairman Carolyn Ladner said, “The little library is very important to me. I think it’s important for children to have books and be encouraged to read.”
The Rotary Club’s goal is to put a Little Free Library in every elementary school.
