Robert Deming as Acting Mayor
Robert Deming is officially the fourth mayor the City of Biloxi has seen in 2015.
As we first told you yesterday, Kenny Glavan appointed Deming to serve the remainder of the term until the special election on April 28th.
Deming admits this has been a confusing time for the residents of Biloxi and his main goal is to just steer the ship straight until the public elects a new mayor to help build a foundation for the future of the city.
I wasn’t elected mayor by a majority of the people to act in the capacity of mayor. I was elected to be a council person. There’s a lot of things differently I would like to see done in the City of Biloxi. However, I’m going to reserve those initiatives for my seat as a councilmember. I would rather to that from the position for which I was elected”, said Deming.
A new mayor will be elected on April 28th. That person will be sworn in as soon as the state verifies the result.
