Robert “Bobby” Cox sworn in as Mayor of Ocean Springs

Ocean Springs, Miss. (WXXV) – Monday evening, Bobby Cox was sworn in as the new mayor of Ocean Springs.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Mary C. O’Keefe Center in Downtown Ocean Springs and was open to the public.

Bobby Cox has lived in Ocean Springs his entire life and has served as the alderman at large for the city for the past 13 years. He owns Cox’s Barbershop, which was founded by his late father in 1961.

During the ceremony, Mayor Cox paid tribute to his background as a barber and a small-town kid who grew up to be the mayor of his hometown.

The City of Ocean Springs has a brand new board and Mayor Cox says his plan is to first get their feet under them and plans on listening to residents in a positive manner moving forward.
