Road to recovery for man who had 130 pound tumor removed

A Gulfport man lived 15 years with a tumor before finding a surgeon willing to free him of the 130 pound mass that had been slowing him down. A year after his surgery, News 25 caught up with Roger Logan on his road to recovery.
“I thought I would just get up and walk and just live on with my life.” But Roger says life post-tumor removal was just the opposite. “They did remove the tumor, but there is still a lot of work to do to get me right.”
Since getting back from his surgery Roger tells News 25 he’s made dozens of visits to the hospital, but the one thing he doesn’t lose is hope. “It’s not been easy, but I’m to the point now that I am walking with a walker, no catheter, and I’ve gotten rid of my nurses, so I’m doing things on my own.” “I feel blessed and just overwhelmed by how wonderfully his recovery has gone.”
After reaching out to thousands of doctors across the nation, Roger’s wife found a California surgeon willing to take on his case through the Discovery Life show ‘Body Bizarre.’ Now, a year after his procedure, his story will be airing on the show. “We decided when they asked us that we had to do it. We had to have our story out there, for other people.”
Roger says he hopes that by sharing his story anyone who feels defeated by a medical condition will find the strength to continue fighting beyond the odds.
