Road flooding in Long Beach near Cleveland Avenue on Sunday

In Long Beach Sunday, drivers were forced to take alternative routes as portions of Highway 90 were inundated with water.

A stretch of Highway 90 near Cleveland and Jeff Davis Avenues was virtually impassable as a result of storm surge.

Police barricaded access roads to the highway and maintained a presence in the area.

Vehicle access to the Long Beach Harbor was also shut down as a result.
