Rivalry renewed: USM and Tulane four game football series starting in 2022

Dating back to the old metro days, the Southern Miss football program has had many rivals over the years. Even in Conference USA, Tulane was one of the big ones and could be once again.
Today, USM athletics announced a rivalry renewed between the Golden Eagles and the Green Wave. The two schools have agreed upon a four game series starting with a home and home in 2022 and 2023. After a two year break, the old friends will do the same thing in 2026 and 2027.
Southern Miss and Tulane have met 30 times since 1979 with the Black and Gold holding on to a 23-7 advantage.
