Ringing in the new year at Lynn Meadows Discovery Center
GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)-Families gathered at Lynn Meadows Discovery Center Wednesday for a special countdown, not to midnight, but to noon.
This was the 15th annual celebration event which has grown over the years.
The celebration is designed for kids who may not stay up until midnight, but still want to experience all the excitement of the new year.
A DJ played some music, along with falling balloons, and plenty of cheering happened as everyone got ready to shout ‘Happy New Year’ right at noon.
For many parents, it was just a perfect way to celebrate New Year’s Eve earlier in the day with their kids.
