“Right 2 Ride” Pascagoula

Cyclists are set to take over the city of Pascagoula this weekend…all to educate drivers and fellow cyclists. On Sunday, “right 2 ride” is an awareness ride meant to show off the scenic views of the flagship city, while also educating drivers and cyclists on the rules of the road. Mississippi law calls for drivers to give cyclists at least three feet while passing…if safe you are encouraged to change lanes to give cyclists adequate room. Aside from drivers, cyclists will also be getting schooled on how to obey traffic laws.

“It is also meant to educate the cyclist that when you ride on the road you are treated as a vehicle. So you need to ride right with the flow of traffic and obey all traffic laws. WE have multiple distances for all riding abilities. Starting at 7 AM the 93 miles will begin then at 8 AM we will 8, 21 and 40 miles.”

All rides will begin at River Park in Pascagoula. For more information, visit city of pasacgoula.com
