Richard Jordan execution set for Wednesday evening
Mississippi’s longest serving death row inmate is set to be executed by lethal injection Wednesday evening at the state penitentiary at Parchman.
However, Jordan’s team has filed another last-minute appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court to stay the execution.
The execution is set to take place at 6 p.m., barring any last-minute stays of execution.
Jordan was sentenced to death for the 1976 murder of Gulfport woman Edwina Marter.
It’s now a waiting game to see if the high court takes any action on this latest filing before the execution is set to take place.
