Retail Coach update in Ocean Springs

During tonight’s Ocean Springs board of alderman meeting, the city received an update from the Retail Coach.

The Retail Coach is a national retail consulting, market research, and development firm that was hired by the City of Ocean Springs to bring economic development and retail recruitment to the city.

Tonight, the Retail Coach Project Director Will Kline discussed their findings from their market research and announced that the retail recruitment portion of their process will begin tomorrow.

Ten sites along Highway 90 are actively being promoted by the Retail Coach with hopes of bringing new restaurants and retail to the City of Ocean Springs. “The quality of life component is really the important thing here and I think bringing retail to a market is incredibly important to a local economy. People have the opportunity to spend more money within a municipality so the more money that pumped into the economy I think everyone stands to benefit.”

Kline tells News 25 the Retail Coach will work alongside the City of Ocean Springs through April 2019.
