Resurrection Catholic heading to the playoffs
After playing an eight-game regular season schedule, comprised of all district games, Resurrection Catholic is on a bye week to close out the 2020 campaign.
And yet, the Eagles still haven’t played their last game.
By virtue of Mount Olive losing 30-0 to Lumberton tonight, Resurrection claims the fourth and final playoff berth in region 4 class 1A.
The Eagles only had one way into the postseason and that was with a little bit of help.
Resurrection and Mount Olive now have the same district record of 5-3, giving RCS the head-to-head tie breaker from its 30-6 victory back in September.
The Eagles are going to the playoffs for the seventh year in a row, giving the Gulf Coast at least 15 teams in the post season.
