Resolution Run and Polar Plunge in Bay St. Louis
The first annual ‘Resolution Run and Polar Plunge’ took place yesterday in Bay St. Louis.
The event featured a 5K, followed by a plunge into the Gulf at the Washington Street Pier. Many people flooded on to the beach to ‘plunge into the new year.’ The event featured food and drinks, including Bloody Mary’s and mimosas.
All proceeds from the event benefited the Hancock County Canine Operation and the Southern Mississippi Aquatic Krewe. Race Director Jennifer Graham said, “In January, you never know what you’re going to get, we could have been, I mean, if we would have done this last week, it would have been cold and miserable. So, we got really lucky with race conditions, maybe not so good for polar conditions and plunging, but everyone’s pretty happy about the day so we’re not going to complain too much.”
The next event to be put on at the Washington Street Pier will be the Lucky Leprechaun Duathlon on March 2nd.
