Residents vote in Republican Primary Runoff for 4th Congressional District today

Polls across South Mississippi are open for today’s Republican Primary Runoff for Mississippi’s 4th Congressional District.

Incumbent Congressman Steven Palazzo is on the ballot alongside Jackson County Sheriff Mike Ezell.

Even if you didn’t vote in the primary earlier this month, you are still eligible to vote in today’s runoff, however, you cannot vote today if you voted Democrat in the primary.

As you head to the polls, don’t forget your photo ID.

Election officials are hoping for a better turnout for today’s GOP Primary Runoff. Harrison County Circuit Clerk Connie Ladner said, “Absentee voting, which is a good indicator of what’s to come on election day, has been pretty steady in the runoff election. We actually had more absentee cast in the runoff than we did in the primary. So, we are hopeful that will be a good indicator for today and the turnout will be much better than the primary.”

Polls close at 7 tonight.
