Residents Upset Over Infrastructure Project

Earlier this month News 25 brought you a story about the Biloxi Infrastructure Project, and how more man power has been added to help speed up the construction.

Weeks later it was standing room only at the Biloxi City Council Meeting this afternoon.

Residents lined up to voice their concerns on the status of the large project.

One group, called Biloxi Ecumenical Clergy Leadership Council, formed in 2016 after construction became an issue for many in east Biloxi.

“We know the roads are going to be completed. And as we stated to the city council today, we’d like to get a timeline on that. But number one now is assuring that people’s health issues are addressed. People’s property issues are addressed in a timely and transparent manner.”

Biloxi officials tell News 25 Mayor Gilich has been working with the upset residents and understands their frustrations.

The deadline for the project is still set for the end of this year.
