Residents come out for the St. Clare Seafood Festival over the weekend

A Memorial Day weekend tradition in Hancock County brought families and friends together for a weekend full of fun.

Our cameras captured the action at the St. Clare Seafood Festival this weekend. One of the major events at the three-day festival each year is a huge car show.

This year, more than 100 classic cars lined the St. Clare grounds, bringing car fanatics together from across the region. Co-Chair Mary Ann Pucheu said, “Through the parking lot, we have cars from all over South Mississippi and Louisiana that have come out here to eat the food, listen to the music, and get some prizes.”

Bob Martin with St. Claire Catholic Church said, “Helping to raise money for the church. So, the children’s tuition offset that can’t afford it, it helps offset their tuition. 1974 Volkswagen bus, it came out of Michigan. I’ve had it for several years.”

The festival has been around for more than 40 years now.
